Job Description:

• Consult, establish, communicate and support national best implementation and maintenance practices for RAN equipment.
• Work closely with the wireless technology group and communicate with manufacturer and vendors of RAN equipment, facilitate new product introduction to the wireless networks teams.
• Interface with the Supply Chain (providing detailed Bill of Material) and Operations (providing clear Method Of Procedure).
• Support engineering team in finding creative solutions to support deployment for equipment in non-standard configuration.
• Investigate and implement cost reductions measures for the RAN equipment deployment resulting in CAPEX or OPEX savings.
• Update, document and communicate the recommendations and/or best practices of the Equipment Engineering group.
• Define new equipment deployment strategies.
• Work closely with manufacturer and vendors of RAN wireless equipment.
• Setting up new tests, wiring, powering, IP connectivity, wireless data modems
• Conducting tests and working through new product commissioning to guide other
• Establishing lab connectivity to other Creekbank lab networks as appropriate for testing
• AC Power delivery trial
• Assist with development and testing of 3rd generation revision of power cabling standards to align with medium or high voltage solutions.
• Electrical or space upgrades required for 5G
• Span trials for initial installations of radios.
• Fluent with back up power dimensioning (battery capacity, load draw type (resistive and current load)
• Fluent with DC power design, cable sizing, distribution sizing, voltage drop and DC breaker sizing
• Basic knowledge with NEC for most common industrial design requirement
• Fluent with elementary cooling calculation, mechanical and forced air
• Experience with fiber network design, optical MUX, optical link requirement
• Fluent with fiber connector, SFPs, fiber mode
• Experience with environmental requirement for cabling and network element
• Good overall understanding of 4G and 5G telecom network
• Experience with design in integrating network elements like router, e/gNODEB, power plant, etc
• Experience working with cabinet in the context of network element integrations
• Good understanding of RF propagation and theoretical RF calculation-link budget
