Job Duties/Accountabilities: Provides rock solid guidance and practical implementation output that advances strategic technology roadmaps that involve next-gen platforms like OpenShift and Istio. Leads complex multi-project programs and ensures the success of enterprise-level application rollouts. The candidate strongly influences the planning of the overall strategy affecting Field Services applications. Provides senior leadership and guidance on technical matters related to delivery, in close conversation with your peers from other IT organizations within the company. Key Accountabilities include: • Lead & participate in early design sessions, involving multiple vendors and internal team contributors • Personally contribute and produce quality concrete implementations of high-level solution directions provided by Enterprise Architects and Senior Technical Advisors • Lead and develop junior/intermediate dev staff to ensure the success of the overall team • Troubleshoot and lead resolution of integration issues in complex environments • Manage project escalations and provide assistance to the production support teams to resolve critical issues • Broker difficult conversations with stakeholders where there are often multiple competing objectives under consideration • Produce high quality long-lasting documentation for all deliverable outputs (code, scripts, CI-CD configurations) Skills: •Proven leadership skills • Exceptional analytical thinking • Exceptional troubleshooting/problem solving skills • Strong technical writing skills • Excellent ability to articulate ideas and influence vendors at design • Strong team player; ability to facilitate, negotiate and work within a multi-domain team environment • Quick learning skills • Bilingualism an asset Qualifications/Competencies: Training and Education • College degree, Bachelor or Master of Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering or similar Knowledge: • Excellent working knowledge of CI-CD pipelines and devops transformations - mandatory • Solid understanding of IT standards (OpenAPI, TMForum eTOM/SID/TAM etc.) • Solid understanding of network concepts, including virtual networks (http/s request routing, OSI model, basic network principles, etc.) - mandatory • Excellent understanding of modern security practices involving hosted applications/services (SSL/PKI encryption, OAuth2, Active Directory / Kerberos) - mandatory • Excellent understanding of infra platforms, including bare metal, virtualization and containerization - mandatory • Excellent understanding of software architecture patterns & practices Software: • On-prem cloud platforms, Kubernetes, OpenShift, IaaS principles- mandatory • Micro service mesh technologies such as Istio, Jaeger etc. - mandatory • Devops tooling (uDeploy, Artifactory, Jenkins, Gitlab ) - mandatory • Operating System administration, configurability and tuning (Unix/Linux, Windows) • Java/J2EE Application servers (Weblogic, WebSphere, JBoss, etc.) • Java enterprise application frameworks, Springboot, Quarkus etc. - mandatory • Web Services / SOA, N-Tier Architectures - mandatory • Data Development • XML / SOAP XML / XSLT / XQuery - mandatory • JSON, JSONSchema - mandatory • C# / .Net • C / C++ Databases: • Relational Databases (Oracle PL/SQL preferred) - mandatory • Object databases / Key stores / NoSQL (Mongo, Redis, Cassandra) mandatory • Microsoft SQL Server an asset Experience: • Software development (Java, C#, C/C++, etc.) - mandatory 8-10 years • Software architecture, critical systems (very large, multi-component platforms) - mandatory 5-10 years Working Conditions: • Ability to efficiently work in virtual teams, handling multiple projects • Availability to work occasional weekends and evenings to meet hard deadlines and available to work occasional overnights to handle escalations or critical outages/impacts. • Fast paced, changing working environment
