Network Engineer II is responsible for complex and diverse network platforms/topologies within a network management center or organization. The candidate provides technical support by analyzing hardware and/or software data, identifying the root cause of the problem and developing/implementing hardware and/or software solutions. Candidate will be responsible for design, integration, operation and management of complex enterprise networks, linking a variety of platforms, operating systems, network topologies and network protocols. Candidate makes recommendations related to network architecture, evaluation of hardware and software products and problem resolution. Bachelors Degree in Engineering or other related field or equivalent experience. 5-8 years of related work experience. Candidates must be eligible for security clearance. U.S. Citizenship required Non driving position Shift: For now 8-5 or 9-6 M-F, but must be willing to work later shift if needed. (11am-7pm) This is an implementation engineering position supporting Sprint's managed customer's data and security networks. Engineers in this position provide implementation and configuration support to ensure successful device and network installs and MACs (Moves, Adds, Changes) for Managed Data customers. The experienced professional will work on installations of complex scope and the position requires someone with extensive knowledge in WAN routing protocols,MPLS, wireless and virtual private networks. Security knowledge and experience is desirable. Individuals with industry recognized certifications are preferred, particularly Cisco certifications. Experience with Cisco routers is a must. Candidates must have good written and oral communication skills. Experienced in using MS office products (Word, Excel, Visio, and Project). Strong core competencies: team work, decision making, problem solving, issue resolution, leadership, facilitation and requirements gathering.
