Job Description

The candidate is responsible for achieving the business strategies and tactical plans for the Cabling Division by providing design and pricing for projects requiring the installation of structured cabling systems designed with fiber cables, copper cables, and other physical layer mediums.  The individual maintains a network of business contacts to capitalize on business opportunities, while promoting Bell Canada’s culture and values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with estimators and PM’s on the team your strength will bring to our team the ability to
  • Read or create scopes of work, prepare estimations, present final quotations to clients
  • Manage workload to complete specific tasks on time and within the client requested timelines
  • Manage front end deliverables pre-delivery to hand-off projects to the delivery PM’s
  • Assist in change order creation with the project manager for complex cabling bids during the duration of projects
  • Actively communicate during the design/estimation process with the client
  • Review materials and labour to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
  • Provide startup project documentation to the delivery team and client
• Will travel to sites to review buildings to determine design and confirm scope is within the cabling standards

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3- 5 years in Structured Cabling Estimation, field experience in structured cabling is an asset.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a supportive work environment
• Ability to read/understand Communications CAD drawings for the purpose of estimating LAN cables, fiber optics, conduit and tray installation.
• Superior client relationship skills
• Excellent written, oral and typing communication skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with attention to detail
• Ability to adapt to a changing business environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
• Must be willing to learn proprietary provisioning and estimating software

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCIES

• RCDD and/or RCDD/OSP/RTPM/NST/PMP designation is an asset with design/estimation or installation experience in Structured Cabling
• Bilingualism is a strong asset
• PWGSC Reliability or Secret Level II Security is an asset (can be obtained for the right candidate)

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Job site and construction environment work required.
• Vehicle travel is required
• Mobile Worker with time split between home and the office.
